Located in Adams County, southcentral Pennsylvania, St. Ignatius welcomes residents of Adams and Franklin Counties, as well as seasonal visitors to the area. Our parish is home to over 500 parishioners, and visitors from far and near know us for our home-style dinners and our Annual Church Picnic each August, which is our largest event of the year, featuring family-style fun in a scenic, historic, country setting. In 2011, our Parish celebrates its 100th anniversary, and 2017 will mark the bicentennial year of our church. |

The Annual Church Picnic is our most anticipated event of the year. It features music by local bands, games, bingo, crafts and of course, the family-style homemade dinners. Held rain or shine, it is an event to mark on your calendar and offers something for young and old alike. |

HISTORY OF “THE WHITE SQUAW:” Mary Jemison—During the French & Indian War, Mary Jemison was kidnapped from this valley on April 5, 1758 by a band of Shawnee Indians and Frenchmen. She was taken to Ft. Duquesne and adopted by a Seneca Indian tribe. During her life with the Indians she was married and had 8 children. She died at the age of 91, after spending her entire adult life as a “White Squaw,” as she came to be known. |
