? Question of the week ? In the first verse of his Gospel, Mark identifies Jesus as “Son of God,” information that, as today’s Gospel wryly reminds us, even the unclean spirits are smart enough to acknowledge. But on this Sunday, when the Lectionary marks the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry, the challenge for each of us is to determine our person answer, not to the question the crowd asks, “What is this?” but “Who is this—for me ?” Then, “How will my answer to this all-important question directly, immediately affect my life at home, at work, at school, in my social circle, indeed everywhere, this coming week?” |
